Print an AI chat without cut-off text
Chat pages are apps, not documents. When you print them, the browser prints what the app shows on screen – which leads to the same four problems on every AI chat site.
The four usual problems
- Code cut off at the right: code blocks scroll sideways on screen; paper can't scroll.
- Only part of the chat: long chats load messages as you scroll, or the chat sits in a scroll box that prints only one page.
- Sidebar and input box printed, squeezing the conversation.
- Wide tables cut off or shrunk to unreadable text.
Fixes you can try without tools
- Scroll to the very top first so all messages are loaded.
- In the print dialog set Scale to 70–80% and turn on Background graphics for code colours.
- Use landscape orientation for wide tables.
- Copy the answer into a document editor and print from there.
A print view made for paper
Talkmere's PDF export (Pro) builds a separate print page from the conversation: long code lines wrap, tables fit the width, each message is a labelled block, and each chat starts on a new page when you print several. Choose Save as PDF or a real printer.
Talkmere saves the open conversation from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok as Markdown, HTML or JSON for free, and as PDF or Word with Pro. It runs in your browser – nothing is uploaded.
Questions
Why do I get blank pages?
Chat pages use fixed-height containers; printing them can produce empty pages after the visible area. A separate print view avoids that.
Does this work for right-to-left languages?
Yes – the print view uses your browser's own text engine, so Hebrew, Arabic and mixed text print correctly.
