Organize Claude and Gemini chats

Updated 2026-11-03

Claude and Gemini both keep a single, growing list of chats. Their built-in tools are built for working with context rather than for filing. Folders fill that gap – and can hold chats from all your AI tools at once.

Claude: Projects, stars and search

  • Projects (claude.ai/projects) group chats with shared knowledge and instructions; move a chat in with the menu next to its name → Add to project. Anthropic says free accounts can create up to five projects.
  • Star a chat to keep it in the starred section.
  • On paid plans you can ask Claude to search past chats; Anthropic notes that from inside a project it searches only that project's chats.

Gemini: the chat list

Gemini lists recent chats in its side menu, where you can pin, rename or delete them. Gems are custom assistants, not folders.

Folders for both with Talkmere

  1. Install Talkmere, open claude.ai or gemini.google.com and click the Talkmere tab at the right edge.
  2. Create folders and drag chats from the site's own list onto them – the same folders show on all four sites.
  3. Use This chat to bookmark the answers you'll need again, and Search to find any chat you've opened (or imported from Claude's data export).

Folders don't touch your Claude projects or Gemini history; they are links stored in your browser.

Talkmere adds folders, search, bookmarks and a prompt library to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok, and saves chats as Markdown, PDF or Word. Free for 5 folders; it runs in your browser – nothing is uploaded.

Questions

Can a folder mix Claude and ChatGPT chats?

Yes. A folder is just a list of chat links, so it can hold chats from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok.

Can I import my whole Claude history?

Yes: Settings → Privacy → Export data, then import the .zip on the Talkmere library page to make it searchable.
